Long Live The Queen Within!
Who holds the keys to your Queendom? Your freedom? Your sovereignty?
A few weeks ago I was talking with a dear friend about how the Queen archetype has been welding her power in me. Requiring of me to explore her power more deeply. We spoke about how the Queen is seen as dangerous because of her power and her power is innocence.
I was not alone in becoming caught up in the wondrous series 'The Queen's Gambit' a couple of years ago. Hell, I even went and bought a chess board and played against my dad, whereby I realised where I get my stubborn competitive streak from!
On a chess board the Queen can move slowly one step at a time in any direction or take a huge leap. It's her gambit to change her mind. She's unpredictable. No wonder she's the most wanted and the one you can't take your eyes off for a second!
That night, after the convo with my friend, I returned home to watch my 'crack', 'The Real Housewives of Dubai'. I kid you not, one of the women was teaching her kid to play chess and he basically said how badass the Queen was for all the reasons I've shared above. Coincidence? Or part of the sublime synchronicity when we're on to something and life plays along with glee.
Well. A few weeks later and the Queen dies. And her presence is everywhere in the public's consciousness. Even in the absence of watching it all play out in the media, she is present.
Whatever we think about the Queen, her archetype is all empowering. And she resides in each and every one of us.
On the 'Sacred Change' Menopause retreat, I learned that she is the one who exists between the Mother and the Crone, otherwise known as the Enchantress. The Queen is sexual energy. She is shakti and Kali. Mother Mary and Kuan Yin, both gentle and loving, yet fierce and 'Off with their heads!' cruel. She holds great power in her words.
Her Crown represents our awareness and connection to Spirit. To life. To our Aliveness. To the muse. And to magic.
Her feet walk upon the earth that we are in devotion to.
She rules with her halo of compassion. She knows that she is born to take responsibility. And to take action in response to life. No matter what.
The Queen is in full service. To take seriously what she has been gifted. Whether through birth or becoming. Through alignment and through honouring that which is greater than she is. She is both regal and humble too.
And the Queen is deeply vulnerable. Others will be magnetised by her light that shines, and will try to court her. But she is her own woman.
Others will try to diminish her role but they underestimate her.
Others will try to hurt her but she is fair and wise. She seeks council from those she trusts. She looks to stars and the skies. She knows things that so many dare not learn.
She says what needs to be said but she doesn't waste her words. They have timbre. Gravitas. Her words come from her cunt. From the ancient ones. Her bones of primal woman. Her blood royal.
The Queen needs her support though. The power behind the throne. Her advisors. Experts she turns to in humility as she trusts their wisdom. If you're blessed, she will count you amongst her most intimate court and confide in you.
She is gold and she knows her place.
